Massage Built Around Training Demands

A session that understands your sport.

Sports massage is not limited to elite athletes. It is a goal-directed massage session for active people who want the practitioner to understand their sport, training schedule and areas of muscular tension.

Before the session, discuss what you have been doing, how you currently feel and what you want from the appointment. The practitioner can then adjust pressure, techniques and time spent on different areas within the scope of massage therapy.

Common Reasons to Book

Recovery that fits the training week.

What to Expect

Consent-forward, and led by your goals.

  1. Complete the intake and discuss your activity, goals, relevant health history and areas to avoid.
  2. Agree on the session focus, pressure preferences, positioning and draping.
  3. Communicate during the session if pressure or positioning needs to change.
  4. Review any general aftercare suggestions and decide whether another session fits your training schedule.
Deep tissue and myofascial techniques

Sports massage, deep tissue and myofascial work describe overlapping goals and methods, not one universal protocol. Where the licensed practitioner offers these approaches, we will list them accurately. Painful pressure is not required, and massage does not diagnose or repair an injury.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sports massage, answered.

Do I need to be an athlete?
No. Sports massage can be appropriate for recreationally active people, weekend athletes and competitive performers.
Does sports massage have to be painful?
No. Pressure should match the goal, tissue tolerance and your preferences. More pain does not automatically produce a better result.
Should I book before or after an event?
Both can be appropriate, but the session style and timing differ. Discuss the event and your goal when booking.
What should I wear?
Follow the practitioner's instructions. You will have privacy, appropriate draping and choices about positioning and clothing.
Can massage treat an injury?
Massage can be part of a general recovery routine, but it does not diagnose injuries or replace medical care or physical therapy.
